About Me:
Greyhound Soul has the staying power that eludes most bands in this age of fickle fads and stylistic trends that seem come and go with the wind.

Its core members – lead man/singer/songwriter Joe Peña, bassist Duane Hollis and drummer Alan Anderson – have been playing together for over a decade. The longevity can be attributed their classic rock/blues vibe that never goes out of fashion, and never sounds tired.

In fact, their ability to make fresh the genre also translates when they put new spins on their own songs. A tempo change here, a jam there, with a guitar solo or a slide added in frequently delights their staunch fans at live shows.

While born and based in Tucson, AZ, Greyhound Soul’s sound is as popular in Europe as it is in the States’ southwestern region.

The band’s discography has been self-released in the US, (Freaks, 1996; Alma de Galgo, 2001; Down, 2002) with those records seeing European issue on Music Network/Line Music – the same label that also released Live & Dusted Vol. 1 (2003).

Their most recent album, Tonight And Every Night (Sept. 2007) will also have a domestic self-release, while it is being picked up on Blue Rose Records (Germany). Signing with Blue Rose, http://bluerose-records.de, puts the band in the company of label mates Kris Kristofferson, The Drive By Truckers, The Old 97s, Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam – just to name a few.

Greyhound Soul is no stranger to European touring. They’ve performed across the pond four times, which included an appearance on the popular German music TV program
Rockpalast (www.rockpalastarchiv.de/welcomee.html).

(Translated Rock Palace, the show is the German equivalent to Austin City Limits and has also featured notables U2, Depeche Mode, Metallica, and Ben Harper.)

Greyhound Soul will be playing select regional shows this fall with another European tour slated for early 2008.
